Our Story
Founded in April 2026 by Gelina Reed, The Mamas Who Brunch was born from a simple realization: motherhood can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also feel isolating.
As a work-from-home mother balancing a career in Corporate America and raising a young family, Gelina longed for a community where mothers could genuinely connect. When she couldn't find exactly what she was looking for, she decided to create it.
But The Mamas Who Brunch was never meant to be just another social club.
It was built on the belief that gathering together can create meaningful change. Through thoughtfully curated brunches and experiences, we bring mothers together to build friendships while supporting causes that strengthen motherhood- focusing on maternal mental health, postpartum support, newborn and infant needs, and the well-being of mothers throughout the St. Louis.
Our inspiration comes from the classic phrase "The Ladies Who Lunch," once associated with leisure, influence, and social status. While those gatherings were known for connection and conversation, we believe today's mothers can redefine what that influence looks like.
The Mamas Who Brunch isn't about status- it's about service.
It's not about exclusivity- it's about community.
It's about using the collective strength of mothers to encourage one another, give generously, and create lasting impact where it's needed most.
Because when mamas come together, amazing things happen.
Our Mission

Mamas Who Give. Mamas Who Nurture. Mamas Who Empower.
We bring St. Louis mothers around the brunch table to build meaning community while uniting our resources to give back to local non-profits championing motherhood & maternal mental health.
Meet the Team

Gelina Reed
Founder
I'm Gelina—wife (husband, Brandon), mama to a toddler (Sofia), writer, entrepreneur, and the founder of The Mamas Who Brunch.
After years of being a people leader in real estate, building a successful career in corporate America (tech sales), I saw a need for something deeper than another networking group or social club. I wanted to create a community where women could strengthen other mothers and use their platforms to make a meaningful impact in the communities around them.
That vision became The Mamas Who Brunch.
Beyond The Mamas Who Brunch, I balance career, entrepreneurship, faith, and family. I know firsthand what it feels like to juggle multiple roles while trying to be fully present for the people who matter most.
I'm also passionate about creating spaces where women feel seen, valued, and inspired. Whether through our events, speaking engagements, podcast conversations, or community partnerships, my hope is that every woman leaves knowing she belongs and that her story matters.
April Strong Gansmann
Co-Founder
I'm April—wife (husband, Jeff), mama to two littles, entrepreneur, licensed esthetician, makeup artist, and co-founder of The Mamas Who Brunch.
After building a career in tech sales and marketing while growing my beauty business, I realized my greatest passion has always been helping women feel confident, seen, and empowered. Whether through beauty, meaningful conversations, or authentic community, I've always believed that when women support one another, incredible things happen.
That passion led me to co-found The Mamas Who Brunch.
Beyond our community, I'm the owner of April Strong Artistry, where I've spent nearly two decades helping women look and feel their very best. From working with brides across the Midwest to serving clients on national pageant stages and in medical esthetics, my career has always centered around helping women step into their confidence.
I graduated with my B.A. in 2012 from Northeastern Illinois University and received esthetics education from Skin Institute. I was Miss US International 2007, Miss Chicago 2010, Miss Illinois Sweetheart 2010, Miss Cook County 2011, and Miss Heartland 2012.
